BUTTERNUT AND HAM ROLLED PASTA 😍

Serves 4

Ingredients :

– 1/2 butternut squash cooked in the oven or steamed
– 200 ml béchamel
– 4 slices of white ham
– 2 balls of mozzarella
– 400 g tomato purée
– Grated Parmesan
– Dried oregano, salt, pepper
– A few sprigs of flat-leaf parsley

Preparation :

1. Cook the mafaldine in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente.

2. Scoop the flesh of the cooked butternut and purée it until very smooth.

3. Lay the al dente pasta flat on a clean work surface. Spoon each strip with the butternut purée and then béchamel sauce.

4. Arrange strips of ham and pieces of mozzarella over the entire surface. Roll gently to form a rosette.

5. Brush the bottom of a baking dish with tomato purée and oregano, then stand the rolled pastas upright.

6. Sprinkle with Parmesan and bake until the cheese is nicely gratinated (about 15 to 20 minutes at 180°C).

7. Scatter Parmesan and chopped parsley before serving piping hot!

The Best Homemade Bechamel Recipe

Bechamel is really very simple and quick to make yourself! With this foolproof recipe, you have no excuse to skip this preparation. Especially since you can start the bechamel while the butternut squash cooks (steamed or roasted). For a nice bechamel you will need: 35 g of butter, 35 g of flour and 450 ml of milk.

You start by melting the butter in a saucepan, then you add the flour all at once and stir until you obtain what is called a roux. Next, gradually pour in the milk while whisking constantly. When the béchamel begins to thicken, remove from the heat and season with salt, pepper and a pinch of nutmeg. And there you have it, the béchamel is ready! We weren’t kidding: it’s really easy and quick to make at home.
