How to customize waffles for a snack or brunch

If you have all the ingredients in the cupboards except vanilla, don’t panic. We know vanilla beans are pricey, so feel free to replace them with vanilla extract (or vanilla powder directly). The recipe is just as tasty without the vanilla flavor, of course! And if you enjoy other spices like cinnamon, you can treat yourself and add a pinch to your waffle maker.

The same goes for pearl sugar; rest assured if you don’t have any at home. It is not mandatory, it adds a crunchy touch to the waffles but it is not essential. And regarding the amount to put in the batter, it’s up to you (we count about two tablespoons). And above all, remember to take the eggs and milk out in advance so they are at room temperature when you mix everything. That’s the key to a beautiful waffle batter 😉
