Crispy Italian Spiral Ready in 20 Minutes for Dinner

Pesto + Prosciutto Crudo + Mozzarella = Guaranteed Indulgence for Dinner

If you haven’t discovered filo pastry sheets yet, we bet this recipe will make you addicted! Much crumblier than brick pastry, filo sheets allow you to achieve an incomparable crunch. Today, we offer you a recipe with Italian flavors (and colors) featuring prosciutto crudo, mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes and a good traditional pesto! For folding, we rely on this very visual spiral for an explosion of indulgence as soon as it comes out of the oven. To serve while still hot, we pair our spiral with a green salad for a quick dinner or, alternatively, we can present it on a grazing antipasti table.

What we love about this recipe is that it can be endlessly varied! With meat, fish, vegetables, cheese, crème fraîche, tomato sauce… It’s up to you to compose the dream combination in this filo spiral and send us your best ideas so we can feast together too 😋

To make this recipe, follow the steps below:

ITALIAN-STYLE FILO SPIRAL 🇮🇹

Serves: 2

Ingredients:

– 4 sheets of filo pastry
– 2 tablespoons Genovese pesto
– 2 slices prosciutto crudo
– 1 handful of grated mozzarella cheese
– A few chopped sun-dried tomatoes
– Melted butter

Preparation :

1. Brush the filo sheets with melted butter and stack them on top of each other.

2. Add the prosciutto crudo to the center of the sheets, then spread the pesto over it. Cover with grated mozzarella and finish with a few slices of sun-dried tomatoes.

3. Gently fold the dough to form a sausage shape, then coil it into a spiral. Brush again with melted butter, then place everything on a baking sheet.

4. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 180°C (356°F) until well golden and crispy. Enjoy immediately!
