3 Tour de France Jersey-Inspired Sauces to Elevate Your Fries This Summer

Impossible to miss it! Every summer, the yellow, green, or polka dot jerseys march along the roads of France. But this year, they could also make an appearance… on your plates. To celebrate the grand summer cycling rendezvous, Ninja has teamed up with a renowned chef to imagine three original sauces inspired by the famous jerseys of the riders. The idea? Rethink mayonnaise with fresher, more colorful, and fragrant recipes, perfect for accompanying the summer essentials such as fries, grilled vegetables, meats, fish, or even sandwiches.

Indeed, even though Ninja is mostly known for its air fryers, the brand has fun stepping off the beaten path with these three recipes that make you want to extend the holidays without too much effort.

Three mayos that break the mold, inspired by the Tour de France

All the recipes rest on the same mayonnaise base which is then developed into three versions with distinctly different flavors to please everyone! The yellow mayo relies on a blend of mild curry and turmeric to obtain a sauce with a beautiful golden color and a slightly spicy edge. It works just as well with roasted potatoes as with chicken or grilled vegetables.

The green mayo, for its part, is loaded with fresh herbs! Parsley, chives, and basil flavor this very fresh sauce that evokes sunny days and pairs perfectly with grilled fish, a vegetarian burger, or even a potato salad. Finally, the speckled mayo adds a crunchy touch thanks to its small cubes of red pepper! Visually, the nod to the iconic jersey is successful, while adding a lightly sweet and very summery note.

These three simple recipes are very playful and easy to recreate at home to break away from classic mayonnaise. So, which jersey/which mayo are you aiming for?

What to accompany these special Tour de France sauces?

Hard to talk about mayonnaise without immediately thinking of fries. And that is precisely where Ninja is number one. To accompany these sauces, the brand highlights its brand-new Ninja CRISPi Pro, a next-generation air fryer that relies on a slightly different concept from what we know today. Its peculiarity?

It operates with heat-resistant glass containers in which you can prepare, cook, serve, store, and then reheat a dish without having to change containers. A practical detail that limits dishes and allows you to prepare a meal in advance before putting it back to cook or reheat. Another advantage: the transparent glass lets us monitor the cooking in real time without opening the appliance. Enough to avoid potatoes becoming too golden or vegetables cooking faster than expected…

An air fryer designed for everyday meals

Beyond traditional fries, the Ninja CRISPi Pro offers seven cooking modes: Air Fry, Max Crisp, oven cooking, roasting, dehydration, pasta cooking or reheating. Thanks to its two sizes of glass containers, it can serve to cook for two or for an entire family (up to 6 people). The idea is to be able to do everything in a single container, from marinating to serving at the table. And that, we love!

In terms of maintenance, the dishes obviously go in the dishwasher. A final major selling point that will surely convince those who love to cook but enjoy doing the dishes a little less afterwards.

A simple idea to refresh summer aperitifs

In the end, the most interesting aspect of this summer collaboration probably lies in these three sauces that show that sometimes it only takes a few herbs, spices, or finely chopped vegetables to transform a simple mayonnaise into an irresistible and original sauce. Served with homemade fries, potato wedges, crunchy vegetables for aperitif, chicken nuggets, or even spread on a sandwich, they bring a splash of color that perfectly matches the vibe of the moment!

And even if they were imagined especially to pay tribute to the most famous jerseys of the summer, nothing prevents you from adopting them long after the Tour de France ends.
