If you want to try this popular remedy at home, you can prepare it in a few minutes with ingredients commonly found in the pantry. The recipe is simple and does not require much time in the kitchen. Below, we share the quantities and the procedure to prepare it.

What is the Anise, Bay Leaf and Oregano Tea For?

Within traditional home remedies, this infusion is primarily used to accompany digestion and relieve the sensation of bloated abdomen after meals. It is a drink that some people tend to have when they feel heaviness or gas, especially after consuming large meals.

Among the popular uses attributed to this infusion are:

  • Relieve the feeling of abdominal bloating: it is commonly taken when the abdomen feels heavy after eating.

  • Support the relief of gas: it is part of home remedies used when there are discomforts related to gas buildup.

  • Enjoy a hot drink after meals: its combination of herbs and spices can be an alternative for those who prefer an aromatic infusion after breakfast or lunch.

Although in some popular remedies it is also recommended to achieve a flat abdomen or lose weight, it should not be considered a fat-burning drink nor a substitute for a balanced diet.

The bay leaf helps reduce stomach gases.

Recipe for Anise, Bay Leaf and Oregano Tea

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon of anise

  • 2 bay leaves

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1 cup of water

Preparation

1. Heat the water. Place one cup of water in a small pot and bring to a boil. When it starts to boil, lower the heat to prevent it from overflowing while you add the ingredients.

2. Add the herbs and spices. Add the teaspoon of anise, the two bay leaves, and the teaspoon of dried oregano. Stir gently so that the ingredients come into contact with the hot water and begin to release their aroma.

3. Let the infusion rest. Keep the preparation on low heat for a few minutes and then turn off the stove. Cover the pot and let it rest for five to ten minutes so that the water absorbs the flavors of the herbs.

4. Strain and serve. Strain the drink to remove the seeds and leaves. Serve in a cup and let it cool a bit before drinking.
