Although we have already left behind the month of Mexican cuisine, in October we still have the opportunity to continue enjoying national flavors at multiple gastronomic events. At the start of this month you will have the perfect opportunity to try different traditional preparations with one of our most famous sauces as the protagonist: the mole. This is the National Mole Fair, which is already being prepared in San Pedro Atocpan, in the Milpa Alta borough of Mexico City. So, if you are a lover of Mexican cuisine, get ready for this gathering that for decades has placed at the center of attention the cooking and traditions of this special community to the south of the city.
The fair will not be limited to food alone; it also brings together different cultural expressions, crafts and activities for you to enjoy with family. During this year’s event, 2026, the National Mole Fair will feature participation from various restaurants, producers and local artisans, but also participants from different states of Mexico, in addition to several shows that will complement the entire experience so that you visit the site and leave with a pleasant surprise.
What to Expect at the 2026 National Mole Fair
Of course, the main attraction of the event will be the gastronomy and the food offerings at the fair. Twenty-three traditional restaurants will be participating with various Mexican specialties. You will also find 17 mole producers offering varieties of this traditional product in presentations of paste, granulado, red mole, green mole and almond mole so that you taste and take home your favorites.
Food does not come alone; it will be accompanied by a broad cultural and entertainment program. You will be able to enjoy various musical and artistic performances, folk dances, jaripeos, traditional activities, amusement rides and performances at the town theater. You will find crafts and exhibitions with participation from creators from Morelos, Hidalgo, Tlaxcala and the State of Mexico, and even an attempt by the event to break a world record, as among the special activities of the edition highlights the making of the world’s largest enmolada, with an approximate length of 80 meters.
